About Dina Ricciardi, LCSW, ACSW, SSW

As an experienced and well-trained clinician, I work with children, adolescents, college students, and adults who are challenged by anxiety, depression, disordered eating, ADHD, grief, and trauma. I also have an affinity for working with those who are intellectually gifted. While I do offer typical therapy, as a psychotherapist I can work at a deeper level to help my clients get to the root of their problems, rather than simply manage symptoms. This leads to more sustainable and satisfying change. My strength lies in holding space, not just answers.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I possess the highest level of licensure in the state. I graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University, where my clinical rotations were completed in a special education setting and an acute care hospital. Upon graduation, I immediately sat for and passed the Licensed Social Worker (LSW) exam. After moving to Pennsylvania, I was employed as a Project Manager for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County and the Director of Community Impact for United Way of Bucks County. I then decided to return to my clinical roots. After thousands of hours of clinical work and supervision, I passed both the ACSW (Academy of Certified Social Workers) and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) exams. I also recently obtained Pennsylvania Department of Education certification as an Educational Specialist I/School Social Worker PK-12.

Being a psychotherapist is a level above a traditional therapist. It has involved years of study of theory, peer and individual supervision, my own therapeutic work, and clinical practice. In addition to my certifications mentioned above, my credentials also include the following:

  • Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Philadelphia Psychotherapy Study Center’s three-year program (a division of the International Psychotherapy Institute/Washington, DC)
  • Certificate program in Eating Disorders, Compulsions, and Addictions from the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology (New York, New York)
  • Training in Sandplay Therapy, Genograms, and Contextual Family Therapy through the Family-Play Therapy Center in Mt. Airy, PA
  • Member, National Association of Social Workers
  • Member, The Pennsylvania Society of Clinical Social Work

It often takes a team of professionals to offer the best support, which is why I collaborate with Registered Dietitians, physicians, and psychiatrists to provide a full continuum of care for my clients when needed.

It is brave to reach out for help. You are worthy of care, and together, we can figure things out.
